If you are unsure how to turn your ideas for printing
into reality and require assistance with your design, our team of
experienced designers are available to help. From your initial enquiry through to final production, Bretonside
Copy can help you every step of the way!
We can accept artwork either as hard copy or digitally; stored
on disk or sent via email. We also work with most popular software
design packages including Adobe Creative Suite + PageMaker /
CorelDraw / QuarkXpress
/ Freehand / Publisher/Word/PowerPoint/Excel / Autodesk DWF Composer.
For digital plans, preferred formats
are PDF, EPS, TIFF, PLT, DWG, DXF & DWF.
 Note:
If you are a CAD user, it is normally possible to save your work
in one of the above formats. Please contact us for assistance
if required.
Additionally, we can import these formats via either our networked
PC’s or Apple Mac’s and send the file directly to our
digital (colour/B&W) printers (A4, A3 & SRA3), wide
format colour/B&W plan printers or wide format colour printers, via our LAN. This flexibility enables us
to cope easily with any late changes to your copy that you may wish
to include, as our artwork design team is well used to such requests!
High Quality
Colour Photography, Scanning, Printing & Copying
- We now have our own on-site photo studio enabling us to
produce highly accurate digital photo files of extremely high
quality
- Shooting in RAW format with our Canon cameras and using
Elinchrom lighting equipment we can faithfully capture the subtle
nuances of virtually any Fine Art or Photographic original.
- The new studio also allows us to offer clients a product
photography service, so if you have a need for professional
photography of small to medium sized products for a brochure or
magazine etc. then please contact us
- Our two large format KIP colour scanners produce high
resolution, top quality full colour scans at true optical 600 dpi,
thus enabling us to make faithful copies of your wide format,
coloured or black & white originals. Furthermore, we can accurately
reduce or enlarge from your
original work
- We can also scan your original work (<A0), and then
save it to CDROM or email it to you
- Original work can be supplied to us digitally (on disk
or via our highly secure email server), or alternatively on paper,
film or tracing
- For Colour and B/W posters that really stand out, we can re-scale your originals
and print them onto either White Bond paper or for even greater
impact onto DAYGLO paper in a choice of either Pink, Yellow, Green
or Orange…. Up to 841mm x 16 metres
- Our networked Printers and Copiers produce professional, high
quality A3 or A4 copies from as little as 2.5p per A4 side

Our state of the art colour printing & copying equipment can reproduce your work
from all popular file formats or from hard copy originals up to A3+ size
and 350gsm weight, with stunning colour matching capability
with extremely fast turn around times.
Volume Production Mono Laser
Printing & Copying
We can produce high quality mono prints or copies at speeds
of up to 12000+ per hour, again with extremely fast turn-around
times.
Wide Format, Full
Colour Printing
With the recent addition of an Océ Colorwave 600, we can now
turn-around colour posters, banners and CAD prints as fast as any
company in the country at prices that are hard to match.
Our wide format colour printing capacity, which in addition to
the Océ Colorwave, also includes an Epson Stylus Pro 9880 (44" print
width), a Canon IPF9000 (60" print width) and our tried
and tested Hewlett Packard 5500, means that we now have one of the largest
capacities for the production of wide format colour printing
in the South West. This capacity enables us to produce on-site the following full colour graphics:
- Giclee Fine Art Prints with faithful reproduction
of originals (in oil, water or acrylics), onto a variety of fine art papers, canvas
or archival quality photo papers.
Using acid free media our Epson and Canon machines can produce fine art prints that
can be classified as attaining the renowned Giclee standard. This
standard is widely recognised as the benchmark for Fine
Art printing and in fact many would claim there is no better
machine currently available for the production of Limited
Edition Fine Art Prints
- Photographic reproductions and enlargements to a
quality standard to satisfy the most demanding of professional
photographers and enthusiastic amateurs alike
- Attention Grabbing Economic Banners printed onto
Tyvek or Blue Backed billboard paper for added outdoor durability
- Stunningly Vibrant Advertising Posters on a
wide range of media some of which can withstand up to 5 years
in an outdoor environment
- Superb Window Display Graphics which can be
re-positioned or removed without leaving adhesive residues
- Durable Exhibition Display & Signage Graphics
using UV pigment based inks with a maximum printing
width of 59” (1500mm) the ability to “tile”
your graphics enables us to produce display graphics that can
be spread as long as you require
- Photographic Prints with originals ideally
shot in RAW format and supplied
to us digitally on disk or via email, we can enlarge and print
up to 1500mm (59"), without any noticeable loss of
definition. Your photographs can be printed onto a range of papers
including a 180gsm matte, a 179gsm semi-gloss, a 195gsm or 210
gsm high gloss or a 270gsm premium satin paper
For all wide format printing, we can accept work prepared in all
Microsoft programs and most popular desktop publishing and design
packages. In addition, we can accept graphics in most leading software
formats including PDF, JPEG, EPS, TIFF and PostScript.
Proofing Service
Before producing your print job, we will ask you to approve a sample
proof copy.
Then, after making any adjustments that you may require, we will
request your signed go-ahead. This process helps us to avoid any
errors pre-production.
Print Board
Mounting & Laminating (<41"/1040mm width)
Our SEAL 44 Ultra and Tullis Russell “JetMounter” board
mounting, laminating and encapsulating machines, allows us to provide
a full finishing service to your printed images up to 41" /
1040mm.
Board Mounting
With a wide choice of substrate materials on which to mount your
prints including: white display board, foam centred board and
semi-rigid Forex PVC board (for outdoor use), you can now have your
posters & prints prepared for framing.
Laminating
With a variety of over-laminating materials to select from including:
matte, satin, gloss and ultra-gloss, you can now have your prints
protected from scuffing and UV light damage. Additionally, the use
of a fine or coarse linen texture effect laminate can add a pseudo
“Fine Art” appearance to your prints.
Print Finishing & Binding
Services
Our finishing department can help turn your printed or
copied documents into high quality booklets, reports, user guides,
manuals menus, dissertations & thesis etc.
With a wide choice of binding methods available, your print job
will be superbly finished, providing your original copy with the
high quality, professional finish it deserves.
Perfect Binding
Our Perfect Binding service in particular, is likely to be of
special interest to individual Authors and Writing Guilds who find
that publishing their work in low quantities can often prove
prohibitively expensive. We can perfect bind in quantities from
single books to production runs of up to 3000.
The addition of this new service means that Bretonside Copy is
now able to:
• offer a comprehensive Layout & Print Design service
• produce your work (on a range of state of the art, high
speed, Colour & Mono printers)
• provide a professional “Paper Back” finish (rivaling
large publishing houses that normally require print runs of 500
or more)
Calendar Binding
Our Calendar Binding Service includes the hanging hook and
thumb-nail cut-out seen on most retailed calendars.
Dissertation & Thesis Hard Backed Binding & Foil Printing
In addition to our Booklet Making, Wire-O, Plastic Comb, Fastback
and Perfect Binding services, we are now able to produce beautiful
Hard Backed Bindings (up to 5.0cm / 2" thickness),
printed with either gold or silver foil titles (front cover &
spine).... Accepted by most Universities and Colleges for Dissertations
and Thesis.
