Our wide range of print finishing services include various styles of binding such as hard-backed dissertation and thesis binding, wire, thermal and perfect (paper-back) binding.
Bretonside Copy is also an approved printing company member of The Fine Art Trade Guild, a nationally and internationally respected arbiter of standards in the realm of Fine Art printing. The Guild has recently introduced ArtSure, a scheme which enables both artists and buyer/collectors of fine art giclée prints to receive a level of assurance that registered limited edition prints are produced to a defined, controlled standard.
Bretonside Copy were keen to become one of the first printing companies to join the exiting ArtSure scheme and as a founding member of the scheme, our services to artists now include the option to have limited edition print runs registered into the ArtSure scheme database administered by the Guild. The scheme focuses on the highest of quality standards of inks and papers used by printing company members and as Guild members, all ArtSure scheme printers are bound by the Guilds’ code of ethics.
If a client artist requires a limited edition print run (recommended limit 800), to be registered within the ArtSure scheme, then a registration number is allocated by the Guild. Print buyers and collectors are then able to view a thumbnail sized image of the print after browsing the Guilds’ searchable ArtSure database. Additionally, both giclée prints and/or Certificates of Authenticity can be produced for each print registered under the ArtSure scheme. Either the fine art giclée print itself, its Certificate of Authenticity or any promotional material required can include the ArtSure logo thereby providing a high degree of confidence to potential buyers of fine art giclée prints.
All of our fine art giclée prints, printed onto either Hahnemühle German Etching (310gsm) or Photo Rag (308gsm), are eligible for inclusion into the ArtSure scheme and such a scheme, is in our view long overdue within the fine art printing world. We are extremely pleased to be able to offer this service to our client artists.
Alongside ArtSure scheme registration, at Bretonside Copy we can provide to artists the creation of quality digital images (essential to achieve superb comparisons to original works), and use colour profiling throughout our production process. We also collaborate closely with each artist, to faithfully reproduce the subtlest nuances of original works.
